David V. Jones, Ed.D. is a visionary and transformational leader in Higher Education Student Services, with 24 years of dynamic experience across multiple facets of student support, including Recruitment, Admissions Policies and Procedures, Student Life, Pan-Hellenic Council/Greek Life, and Academic, Career, and Transfer Advising Administration. His career is marked by a deep commitment to student success, strategic innovation, and the development of inclusive, equity-centered educational environments
As Director of Career Services and Industry Partnerships at Morehouse School of Medicine, David has been instrumental in integrating career development into the fabric of the institution. He has developed over 15 new career development resources, designed courses that achieved a 100% placement rate for graduates, and established the institution’s first career services platform, transforming the student experience. His focus on creating partnerships has enhanced the placement of students in health and medical industries, including securing key collaborations with industry leaders like GSK.
A scholar-practitioner with a doctorate in Higher Education from Texas Tech University, Dr. Jones' research focused on LGBTQ student engagement in community colleges. He holds a Master of Arts in Cross-Cultural Studies from the University of Houston-Clear Lake and a Bachelor of Arts in Education from Talladega College. His academic expertise, combined with a proven track record in leadership, has made him a sought-after speaker and faculty member, contributing to various national conferences and educational programs. His current research interest are Succession Planning, Black Male Achievement/Mentorship, Intersections of Accessibility and Career Readiness, and HBCU Leadership challenges.
David is passionate about empowering students to realize their full potential, building strategic partnerships that benefit the academic community, and fostering environments that promote diversity, equity, and inclusion. His leadership philosophy centers around meeting individuals where they are and guiding them toward achieving their personal and professional aspirations.
